A pre-Strawberry Festival tradition continued despite pre-dawn showers……the water in the fountain on the Public Square in downtown Troy turned strawberry red.

Six gallons of red food coloring was poured into the fountain at 6 o’clock Friday morning.

The 36th annual Strawberry Festival is this Saturday and Sunday in downtown Troy. The festival was moved to West Main Street for just this year due to the replacement of the Adams Street bridge. That project started the day after the 2010 festival and is scheduled to be completed by mid-November of this year.

The theme of the 2012 festival is Mardi Gras Berries.
