Homer hat trick for Granderson

3 UP

1. Curtis Granderson, OF, Yankees. Granderson went 5-for-5 with three home runs and four RBIs in the Yankees’ 7-6 win against the Twins. He now has six homers, all coming in the last eight games, with 14 runs, 10 RBIs and a .283 average. Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman gets an honorable mention here for going 3-for-5 with a pair of dingers and five RBIs last night in Arizona.

2. Vance Worley, SP, Phillies. The right-hander dominated the Padres for seven shutout innings Thursday, limiting them to four hits and three walks while fanning a career-high 11 batters. Worley lowered his ERA to 2.37 ERA in what was his first victory of the season. Felix Hernandez (8 IP, 12 Ks), Jason Hammel (6 IP, 10 Ks) and Mike Minor (8 IP, 9 Ks) also had high-strikeout games Thursday.
